C4D and Education

While Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 is dedicated to ‘ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’  there are currently, 264 million children and adolescents globally who do not have the opportunity to enter or complete school.1 This impacts negatively on children in all aspects of life – from Early Childhood Development to not having the knowledge and skills needed for employment in later life. While poverty, conflict, and emergencies are often the major causes of lack of education, other issues such as discriminatory social and gender norms, and lack of inclusion and equality also have a role to play.

Our C4D & Education section offers a range of resources that offer a more in-depth look at how a wide range of C4D methods are being used to contribute to the education sector in an effort to meet SDG4.
