Media Focus on Africa will launch the first edition of the Annual Kenya Media Week in the September 2018. It will be a 3-day event entailing open lectures, panels and discussions involving media stakeholders and interested parties. The main goal is to promote the critical role of the media in advancing and sustaining democratic governance in Kenya.

2018 Public Media Alliance Global Conference: Speak Out! Rebuilding Trust in Media and Democracy (Kingston, Jamaica)

Beirut Editors Lab: Prototyping the Future of News in Beirut (Lebanon, Beirut)
On 27-28 April April 2018, the Global Editors Network (GEN), in partnership with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and IJNet Arabic, and with the support of the Google News Initiative, will gather media innovators from the region at Flat6Labs in Beirut to develop innovative journalism prototypes.
The participants will devise new ways to hold powers accountable for their actions and promises.
International Journalism Festival (Perugia, Italy)
The IJF is the biggest annual media event in Europe. All IJF sessions are free, without any need for registration and so far, there are 150 speakers running sessions ranging from citizen journalism to reporting on humanitarian crises. Sessions will also be live streamed.
