SIL International and the Society for International Development, Washington Chapter have collaborated to present the following event:
This discussion will focus on the value of the artistic languages of indigenous communities in driving development results. The panel will provide proven methods and sound theory for incorporating local traditions with musical, dance, visual, dramatic, poetic and other artistic features in meeting community goals in a manner that honors their cultural identity while delivering cost effective results. Diplomats, civil society, and development practitioners will come away with a greater understanding of the value of incorporating local arts in community projects and for economic development.
This event is free but registration is required.
