The C4D Network is a non-profit organisation, registered in England and Wales since 2011. Its vision is for a thriving ‘communication for good’ sector, based on creativity, knowledge, skills and connection. Its mission is to help build the capacity and impact of individuals and institutions engaged in ‘communication for good’ ; supporting this community to thrive as a sector and as an area of professional practice in international development, humanitarian response and human rights.
The C4D Network has been established and funded by the Communications for Development Ltd company as a ‘common good’ contribution to the international development sector aimed at supporting practitioners through connection, exchange and learning.
The Communications for Development Ltd company was established in the UK in 2005 by Jackie Davies to provide consultancy and advisory services. Jackie is a communicatitons consultant, trainer and writer.
The C4D Network began in 2006 as an informal lunch group of consultants in Communication for Development (C4D) hosted by Jackie, and has grown organically to be an international social network welcoming seasoned and new actors in C4D and social and behaviour change SBC – all who are interested in the power of communication for good.
