ComDev 20 years. Do you want to organise the celebration?
September 17 @ 8:00 am - September 18 @ 5:00 pm
This year, Communication for Development is celebrating its 20th anniversary at Malmö University. The first pilot course started in September 2000, the international MA programme was established two years later, and the number of graduates over the years is now approaching 400. This makes it one of the earliest and most respected MA programmes in this field in the world.
We are going to celebrate it with an Alumni Festival 17-18 September 2020. All graduates from the programme will be invited to attend and present their current work. Some of the many scholars and practitioners that have contributed to the programme will also be invited as speakers.
To really make this an alumni event, we wish to delegate the responsibility for organising it to a ComDev graduate, with the assistance of one or two students that are currently enrolled in the programme. As the delegate in charge of organising the Festival, you will receive the correspondent to one month’s salary (assistant), spread over a period of four months (excluding summer break) from April to September. You will have decisive influence over the content and design of the Festival, but you are expected to reach out to a wide alumni network, and you will report to the ComDev programme coordinators, who will assist you with administrative issues.
It is not a requirement that you are based in the region, but you need to be an EU citizen (with the right to work in Sweden), and you need to be on location in Malmö at least two days before and during the Festival (compensation for travel expenses may be negotiated).
If you are interested, send an mail to [email protected] with your CV and tell us your spontaneous suggestions for the Festival, before 10 March!
