The Role of Media in Containing COVID-19 and Saving Lives

April 27, 2020

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the World Health Organization, BBC Media Action, and Internews participated in a webinar to advise journalists on how to convey and help their audiences understand response efforts such as self-isolation and quarantine during the current COVID-19 outbreak, and how to prevent transmission.

A total of 170 journalists from around the world attended the webinar and asked questions about how to avoid creating fear or stigmatizing affected people, dealing with rumours and disinformation, and communicating prevention measures.
