Daystar University together with C4D Network is happy to host a webinar titled {Development
Communication paradigms, Thursday 15 th April, 2021.}. This webinar is jointly planned and
organized by the newly formed Africa C4D hub hosted by Daystar University and a substituent
to C4D Network headquartered in Oxford, UK. Bringing this inaugural webinar is a renowned
celebrated C4D guru Professor Srinivas Raj Melkote.
Srinivas Raj Melkote is Professor Emeritus in the School of Media and Communication at
Bowling Green State University, USA. He has taught in the fields of media and communication
for over 40 years in universities in India, Jamaica, and USA. Professor Melkote has researched
and published extensively on a range of issues covering the role of media and communication in
development and social change, participatory communication, health communication and media
theory. His most recent book Communication for Development: Theory and Practice for
Empowerment and Social Justice, 3 rd edition (co-authored with Prof. Leslie Steeves), is a core
text for university courses on media and communication in directed social change. He is the chief
editor of the Handbook of Communication and Development, which will be published in August
2021.
